Ductwork Repair, Sealing and Installation
The best furnace in the world cannot fix bad ductwork. If some rooms are never comfortable, the ducts are usually the reason.
- Airflow testing, not guesswork
- Sealing, repair and redesign
- New ductwork for additions and remodels

We call back fast to confirm a time.
Ducts are the delivery system for every dollar of heating and cooling you buy. Leaky, undersized or poorly laid out ductwork wastes energy, makes equipment loud and leaves the far bedrooms cold in winter and hot in summer.
Signs of ductwork problems
- One floor or room is always too hot or too cold
- Weak airflow from some registers
- Whistling, booming or rattling when the system starts
- Dusty house no matter how often you clean
- High bills with newer equipment
- Visible gaps, crushed or disconnected ducts
- Rooms over the garage that never heat
- A finished basement or addition with no supply air
Ductwork services
- Static pressure and airflow testing
- Sealing with mastic and foil tape, not cloth duct tape
- Adding returns to starved systems
- Replacing crushed, rusted or undersized runs
- New supply and return runs for additions and basements
- Zoning with dampers and separate thermostats
- Insulating ducts in attics, garages and crawl spaces
- Custom sheet metal transitions and plenums
Why returns matter
Many older Twin Cities homes have plenty of supply registers and only one or two returns. A furnace can only push out as much air as it can pull in. Adding return air is often the single most effective fix for an upstairs that will not cool.
What affects cost
- How accessible the ducts are. Open basements are simple, finished ceilings are not
- How much needs replacing versus sealing
- Whether zoning is added
- Sheet metal versus flexible duct

Ductwork FAQ
Can you fix one cold room?
Usually, yes. We measure airflow first so the fix targets the cause, whether that is a disconnected run, an undersized duct or missing return air.
Should I replace ducts when I replace my furnace?
Not normally. We test static pressure during the estimate and recommend changes only where the numbers say they are needed.
Do you clean ducts?
We focus on repair, sealing and design. If cleaning is needed we will tell you and can point you to a reputable cleaner.
